Insights help 'sell volunteering'

'We don't want to volunteer... but we're really happy to help each other' We recently worked with Arun District Council to help them gain insights to commission a new peer-support wellbeing service. Insights have helped shape the specification, providers invited to tender and ensured that the service commissioned meet the real needs of people. One of the surprising insights was that while many people are ‘happy to help’ each other, they shy away from volunteering, leading us to recommend the reframing of volunteering from a structured commitment to a way of just helping each other have more of what we want... moving it as always with social marketing to answer the question ‘ What’s In it For Me?’
